Hochschule Fresenius University of Applied Sciences and IT service provider adesso found adesso School of Digital HealthDortmund/CologneDortmund/Cologne

The newly founded adesso School of Digital Health is an initiative established by IT service provider adesso as part of the Hochschule Fresenius. With the initiative’s two partners pooling their competencies, students will benefit from the Hochschule Fresenius’ expertise as well as the practical, project-based experience at adesso. The School of Digital Health will begin with its Digital Health Engineering bachelor degree (B.Sc.), starting September 2021, with additional joint projects and courses in the pipeline.

Comment: Oh, it’s moving! Autonomous vehicles on the streets of Germany (Author: Prof. Dr Volker Gruhn)

Even the longest journey begins with a single step. Or, in the case of autonomous vehicles, the first short trip. Surprisingly, autonomous driving is beginning to pick up some speed: The German government has recently proposed a raft of new laws on the use of autonomous vehicles on the roads. If the Bundesrat, the upper body of the German parliament, approves the legislation, autonomous vehicles could be used on selected sections of road by as early as 2022.

adesso SE acquires majority stake in KIWI Consulting EDV-Beratung GmbH / Bundling and strengthening of competencies in the field of banks and public clients

adesso has concluded an agreement with the shareholders of KIWI Consulting EDV-Beratung GmbH (KIWI Consulting) to acquire 70% of the shares. The debt-free, growing and profitable company from Walldorf achieved a turnover of over EUR 27 million and an EBIT of around EUR 3.4 million in 2020.

adesso, a partner of the Leipzig Book Fair, designs the platform for Leipzig liest extra

The Leipzig liest extra reading festival starts today as part of the Leipzig Book Fair. The public fair, which normally sees thousands of exhibitors and visitors, was forced to cancel due to the pandemic. This year’s fair has been replaced with Leipzig liest extra: a cultural event held in a hybrid format for literature lovers. Between now and Sunday, the public can experience readings from authors live at around 400 events at 80 locations in Leipzig or online. adesso, Leipzig Messe’s long-standing IT service partner and an expert for digital events, was commissioned with creating the technical platform.

adesso helps transform Hannover Messe 2021 into a top-class digital event

During the global pandemic, event organisers have been left no other choice than to plan their events as digital-only experiences and appeal to visitors with exciting online formats. Hannover Messe has been particularly successful in this area, pulling in 90,000 paying visitors in April with its innovative trade fair platform. The concept was put together with the involvement of adesso as a member of a consortium of IT service providers. The digitalisation specialist also successfully implemented the online edition of gamescom in 2020.

Plenty of room for improvement: one in two say their company needs to catch up when it comes to AI

Which AI projects have companies already implemented? What are their plans? Where do they see the greatest obstacles in their businesses? And what potential do they think the technology might have? This year, the IT service provider adesso asked nearly 1,000 decision makers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for their thoughts on artificial intelligence. The most important finding? Half are not convinced of their companies’ AI capabilities.

Contract with Michael Kenfenheuer extended until 2023

The Supervisory Board of adesso SE has extended its Executive Board contract with long-serving CEO Michael Kenfenheuer (62). Kenfenheuer’s contract was originally set to expire at the end of 2021. As a result, the experienced manager will continue to help oversee adesso’s further business development until the end of 2023 in his position as CEO and a member of the successful Executive Board. In his over 20 years of service to the Executive Board since 2000, Kenfenheuer has played an instrumental role in adesso’s development to become a leading consulting and technology firm for industry-specific business processes in central Europe.
