We have compiled the most frequently asked questions about the application process at adesso so that you can quickly find answers and know exactly what to expect.

If you do not find a suitable answer to your question here, please feel free to contact us. You can find the contact details below or on the respective job advertisement.

It is important to us that you receive feedback on the status of your application quickly at every step of the process – that is our aim. Since many people are involved in the selection process and want to check a wide range of options for you, it may take a little longer in some cases. Thank you for your patience and understanding – we do our best to make the process as quick as possible and look forward to meeting you!

  • Step 1

    Your application

    Have you found a suitable job with us? Then we look forward to receiving your application via our job portal (jobs.adesso-group.com). All you need to do in the first step is upload your CV and the whole process will only take a few minutes.

  • Step 2

    Receiving your application

    After submitting your application via the job portal, you will receive a confirmation of receipt from us by email. If this is not the case, please check your spam filter or contact us at recruiting@adesso-group.com. If we have received your application via our internal recruiters or an external recruitment consultancy, you will not receive a confirmation of receipt. Communication will take place via your respective contact persons.

  • Step 3

    Checking your documents

    The recruiting team checks your documents for completeness and formal fit. We forward your application to the department and reserve the right to consider other positions and departments. If we have any questions, we will contact you promptly.

  • Step 4

    Interview

    If we receive a positive response, we will invite you to an initial meeting. It won't just be you introducing yourself to us, we will also be introducing ourselves to you. The interview will usually take place with the department via MS Teams video call or in person. Another personal interview is usually planned. In some cases, additional selection procedures such as recruitment tests for apprentices and dual students as well as assessments for managers may be used.

  • Step 5

    Employment contract

    We want you in our team! Your future manager will discuss the contractual conditions with you. You will receive your contract and we will welcome you as a new adesso employee.

  • Step 6

    Welcome and onboarding

    Welcome to adesso! Our onboarding programme is much more than just a familiarisation programme – we create a foundation for your adesso journey, build relationships and shape a shared vision. Get off to a flying start with our Welcome Days – two days of networking and getting to know each other – and find lots of helpful information to get you started.


Before applying

  • After you have looked at our job offers and found the right position for you, click on the ‘Apply now’ button. This will take you to our online portal, where you can create an application profile with your email address. You will receive an email with a link that will take you to your profile without a username or password.

    Then upload your application documents – preferably as a PDF – check your details and submit your application.

    Please note that for data protection reasons, we only accept applications via our online portal. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications by email or post.

  • For your application, we require a current résumé or CV. A cover letter is not usually necessary – but if it is, we will contact you. In this case, you can enter ‘Recruiting Team’ as the contact person.

    We also welcome additional documents such as references, certifications, etc. – you can upload these in the application profile under ‘Additional documents’, preferably as a PDF.

    If you are currently studying or in training, please also include a current transcript of records.

  • Yes, you can. Choose the position that best suits you and your career goals. If you are interested in other positions, you can indicate these in the application form under ‘Further information you would like to provide us with’. We will then review all the positions indicated and send you a combined response.

  • You can find all the positions for which we are currently accepting applications on our job portal. Unfortunately, we cannot consider unsolicited applications by email for data protection reasons.

  • Yes, both pupils and students can complete internships with us. In addition, there is also the opportunity to join us as a working student and to write your thesis with us. You can find all current vacancies on the job portal.

  • Since we have customer projects mostly in German-speaking countries, our project language is German and very good knowledge of German is required for this. Positions that involve international tasks usually require knowledge of English. You can find the required language level in the individual job postings.


During the application process

  • The application process usually involves two interviews – one virtual and one in person at one of our offices.

    However, there may be deviations within the adesso Group or for specific positions, e.g. an initial phone call. You can find out what type of interview to expect in your invitation email.

    If you are applying for an executive position, you will go through a three-stage selection process. After two interviews, you will take part in the Check-Up – an interactive online format with five modules on various leadership topics. It is an integral part of the selection process and helps us assess your suitability for the position. Afterwards, you will receive feedback on relevant aspects of your leadership personality.

  • You can be sure that we have received your application if you have received an acknowledgement of receipt by email. If you cannot find it, please refer to ‘What should I do if I have not received an acknowledgement of receipt?’.

  • First check your spam folder. If you don't find a confirmation there, delete the cookies or try with a different browser. If you still don't receive a confirmation, please contact us so that we can solve the problem as quickly as possible.

  • When you submit your application, we create a candidate profile for you. You can access this via the link sent in your confirmation email. You can view the status of your application at any time. Your profile is also used to coordinate your interviews.

    You will usually receive a response from us within 14 days. In exceptional cases, it may take a little longer. Please feel free to contact us if you need a response from us sooner.

  • Interviews can vary greatly depending on the role and selection process. Here are a few tips to help you feel relaxed and well prepared for the interview:

    • 1. Present your background briefly and concisely:
      Think about how you can summarise the most important stages of your professional career in a few sentences in advance. Interviews often start with the question ‘Tell us something about yourself’, which is why a well-structured overview of your previous experiences is an ideal way to start.
    • 2. Reflect on your skills and interests:
      Take some time to reflect on your skills and experiences and what motivates you in your career. This will help you to authentically demonstrate your strengths and the working environment that is important to you during the interview.

      Note: At adesso, we know that talent comes in many forms. The interview is not just about checking your suitability for the position you have chosen – we use the opportunity to find out together in which area your strengths and interests come into their own best. Our goal is to give you the best possible start so that you can start in a role in which you will be successful and satisfied in the long term.
    • 3. Find out about adesso:
      Research our business model, relevant technologies, methods and our corporate culture in advance. Even if not all the details are asked about in the interview, this knowledge will help you to ask targeted questions and show your interest in our company.

  • Yes, that is possible. It is best to make the change directly in your candidate profile. Just let us know briefly why you would like to postpone the appointment. Our recruiting team will then coordinate new appointment proposals with the hiring manager.


Technical support & data protection

  • If you have problems dialling in, first check whether you have used the correct link from the invitation. After clicking on it, the Teams homepage will open where you can choose between using the Teams app or the browser. Once you have joined, make sure to activate your camera and microphone so that you can start the conversation right away.

  • We're sorry to hear you'd like to withdraw your application – you can easily do this at any time in your candidate profile. Of course, you can always apply again.

  • Your data is used exclusively for the application process and is processed in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. After the process has been completed, it will be deleted after six months. You can find more information in our privacy policy (German).
