Contract with Michael Kenfenheuer extended until 2023
The Supervisory Board of adesso SE has extended its Executive Board contract with long-serving CEO Michael Kenfenheuer (62). Kenfenheuer’s contract was originally set to expire at the end of 2021. As a result, the experienced manager will continue to help oversee adesso’s further business development until the end of 2023 in his position as CEO and a member of the successful Executive Board. In his over 20 years of service to the Executive Board since 2000, Kenfenheuer has played an instrumental role in adesso’s development to become a leading consulting and technology firm for industry-specific business processes in central Europe.

material.one innovation optimises the sampling process in the automotive industry
material.one is the name of the latest innovation in the automotive and manufacturing industry to advance digitalisation in the sector. Within the scope of a joint project between adesso and logsolut, a platform is currently being created that will digitalise the sampling of components along the entire supply chain. The first pilot projects with lead-ing German automobile manufacturers and suppliers are already underway or in preparation.

Our ten commandments for beating the proof of concept nightmare and ensuring that AI projects are a success
There is a sense of euphoria at the start, and it is usually huge. Expectations reach unimaginable heights before an AI project begins, then disillusionment sets in as the weeks and months pass by. The end result is not the hoped-for revolutionary improvement to your own processes or brilliant new service idea, but a proof of concept (PoC). This evaluation shows what is possible and quickly reaches a state in which many AI initiatives remain forever: stuck in the PoC nightmare. The project fails as it moves from “this is possible” to “this is productive and earns money” – not because the developed AI solution does not work, but because those responsible have paid too little attention to some peculiarities and challenges typical of AI. In order to avoid the PoC nightmare, the IT service provider adesso believes companies should pay attention to these ten points:

adesso pools SAP expertise together at new company adesso orange AG
QUANTO AG, which is majority owned by adesso, was joined in the past few weeks by about 100 SAP experts from the mother company and is now doing business under the name adesso orange AG as of 1 April 2021. The newest adesso subsidiary was formed to assist corporate customers with projects in the SAP segment.

adesso continues strong growth in 2020 and achieves new record sales of EUR 523 million
IT service provider adesso continued its strong growth in 2020 in spite of the global pandemic, increasing its sales by 16 % to EUR 523.4 million. Operating earnings (EBITDA) improved more significantly, by 26 % to EUR 60.4 million. All in all, the business model and sector diversification have proven to be resilient.

The Supervisory Board of adesso SE has appointed Torsten Wegener to the Executive Board as of 1 April 2021, bringing the total number of members to six. This new addition to the management is one way the IT service provider is responding to its rapid growth, the diversification of business fields and target industries, and advances in internationalisation.

adesso supports Dortmund Heisenberg-Gymnasium (grammar school) in online lessons and home schooling
Online and blended lessons have unfortunately now become the norm for many pupils in these coronavirus times. To get home schooling to work, a basic prerequisite is good IT equipment, of course. The IT company adesso would like to provide support locally and has committed to helping Heisenberg-Gymnasium in Dortmund quickly and unbureaucratically. It is a small Easter present, so to say.
