adesso’s new Berlin office wins Best Workspaces Award 2023

A panel of experts, comprising editors of leading architecture magazines, architects and urban planners, convened once more to evaluate and select the best office projects in the categories of working environments and office buildings in the international Best Workspaces Award 2023. Together with six other companies, adesso received the Best Workspaces Award 2023 in March for its office on Prinzenstraße in Berlin, just off Moritzplatz. Panel member Dr Robert Nehring, publisher and editor-in-chief of “Das Büro/OFFICE ROXX” magazine, found that one particularly impressive feature of adesso’s office in Berlin was its bistro. “The open, relaxed atmosphere is inviting and conducive to creative thinking. It’s somewhere you can take a break or even spend time working. An excellent example of a place to meet, have a chat and relax. In this era of rethinking the workspace, the cafeteria has risen significantly in stature,” he said.

For adesso, the Best Workspaces Award 2023 represents a further confirmation of its appeal as an employer for in-demand IT experts and executives. Rüdiger Striemer, who is also head of Corporate Buildings at adesso, adds, “In a highly competitive industry, employers now have to offer more than a well-paid, crisis-resistant job. There are other factors involved too, such as corporate culture and team spirit – and in our view a working environment featuring appealing architecture that inspires a feeling of community plays a vital role.” For Striemer, the high profile of Corporate Buildings is also one of many factors behind the company’s repeated wins in the Great Place to Work® competition. adesso recently took first place again as “Germany’s Best Employer in the ITC sector” for the size category over 2,000 employees. “For us, this is clear proof that our employees feel very much at home in our offices and enjoy working here,” says Striemer.

March 2023: A month of awards – including for adesso Munich

The Best Workspaces Award 2023 has been joined by another interior design award: The Munich office has just been awarded 1st prize in the "Café & Bistro" category of the "The Most Beautiful Restaurants & Bars 2023" competition for the interior design of its staff bistro, another prize awarded by Callwey Verlag in collaboration with the German Hotel and Restaurant Association DEHOGA.

adesso moved into its new office in Munich’s eastern district in spring 2021. More than 700 employees work there, occupying approximately 13,000 square metres on five floors. The commendation praised the laid-back, modern design of the cafeteria, with its warm colour scheme and round tables, featuring cosy chill-out corners with lounge chairs and a gaming zone with table football, darts and TV for casual after-work socialising. There is also a spacious staff kitchen, which may inspire employees to cook together in the evenings. adesso also relied on raumkontor Innenarchitektur’s expertise in designing the Munich office – a great reason to celebrate these fantastic architecture awards together.
