New milestone in digital health applications: adesso and the Bayreuth-based medical devices manufacturer medi have founded a new joint venture called HEALAY. Based in Frankfurt, the new joint venture will focus on developing and marketing innovative digital health applications in the medical devices market.
Upload photos of the changes on the skin and receive a diagnosis from a dermatologist within 24 hours – that’s how the dermanostic app works. adesso has now teamed up with the start-up to investigate whether the skin photos can be automatically analysed in future so as to provide diagnoses even faster.

According to adesso’s current e-commerce study entitled “What online shoppers want and companies offer”, 46 % more consumers bought food online during the pandemic, and 39 % more purchased household items as well as toiletries and cosmetics online. These areas are the e-commerce winners of the pandemic. When customers were asked what annoys them when shopping online, most of them (38 %) answered “having to set up a customer account”, with “complicated returns” (35 %) and “unclear delivery times” taking second and third place.
Trustlog, a joint venture of the insurance providers R+V and VHV, is the name of the new digital service platform for the smart management of surety bonds in the construction industry. In their mission to simplify the surety underwriting process in the construction sector, the two insurers have chosen the IT service provider adesso to oversee the technical implementation of the platform, which will also be open to banks and other guarantors.
After a strong first half of the year, adesso SE is on track to achieving its growth forecast for 2021 as a whole. The adesso Group increased its sales by 31 % year on year in the first half of 2021 to reach a new half-year high of EUR 322.4 million. Over 25 percentage points of that growth were generated organically. The first half of the previous year was negatively impacted by the pandemic, especially in the second quarter. In 2021, however, adesso has been able to play to its strengths as a sought-after partner for digital transformation in all industries, benefiting in the process from the marked increase in personnel in the previous quarters.
adesso will support the topics of transformation and digitalization as a strategic partner of the IT & Digital division of DFB GmbH. The key parameters of the partner-ship were defined in a framework agreement with DFB GmbH, which has been con-cluded for the next four-and-a-half years.
The BMW Group has chosen adesso as its partner for the company’s agile transformation. The IT service provider will be supporting the carmaker in its agile enablement strategy, training entire departments and specific teams on their agile journey with a variety of training and coaching measures. The BMW Group has already established flagship agile projects to safeguard its global competitiveness across many areas and processes, from development, logistics and finance to HR and purchasing.
adesso has established a further subsidiary for its software product business. adesso manufacturing industry solutions GmbH offers the manufacturing sector a new, innovative industry solution for smart variant management. The concept makes it possible to thoroughly optimise processes in custom manufacturing, from variant configuration, creating quotes, handling orders and planning, through to production, commissioning and service.
