In his keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Volker Gruhn, the founder of adesso AG and the Chairperson of adesso’s Supervisory Board, will take a look at the unique challenges involved with developing AI-based systems. There is not just one approach to AI. Instead, each company pursues different goals and is subject to different conditions, which is why they need solutions that are targeted to their individual requirements. Developing systems of this nature means a host of new demands in terms of project structure and the expertise of those involved.

In further presentations by experts, visitors to adesso digital day will be able to find out how AI methods can support sales processes and lead generation. They will also have a chance to discover what matters when developing and operating chatbots while gaining an overview of the dos and don’ts of using AI on mobile devices. Examples will include the AI application from soccerwatch.tv for streaming football matches and urban ENERGY, an intelligent platform for smart cities.

The highlights of the event will include an appearance by Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, head coach of the German women’s national football team. As the patron of the adesso initiative Women in IT professions!, she is committed to helping win over more women for careers in computer science, IT consultancy and IT management. Having just returned from the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, she will tell visitors at adesso digital day all about what she experienced there.

Visitors can especially look forward to the final keynote speech of the day by Dr Hubert Zitt. The renowned science fiction expert and lecturer in computer science at University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern will draw fascinating parallels between science fiction and artificial intelligence. His presentation will take a look at the evolution of information technology from the PC to artificial intelligence, showing how close we are today to the technology of C-3PO and HAL 9000 while outlining the challenges, opportunities and risks associated with sentient robots.

Signal Iduna Park, the site of adesso digital day, is a venue with a long and legendary history. Germany’s largest football stadium and home to Borussia Dortmund, Signal Iduna Park was named the world’s best football stadium by the British newspaper “The Times” in 2009. Given the location’s storied past, the event will also include an opportunity to take a tour of the stadium.
