GSK and adesso develop digital solution for reliable adherence to treatment

British biopharmaceutical company GSK is relying on the expertise of IT service provider adesso to enhance digital patient care. Together, the two partners have developed DREAM (Digital Reminders for Adherence of Medicines and Vaccines), a digital reminder service for medication intake and vaccination appointments. After launching in five pilot markets, the project has become a global success story. Today, DREAM is live in 23 markets around the world, including the UK, Spain, Italy and numerous emerging markets.

At the heart of the project lies a fundamental challenge in healthcare: how to support patients in consistently following their treatment plans and attending vaccination appointments. In collaboration with adesso, GSK has developed DREAM to address exactly this need. The digital solution sends patients personalised information and reminders – reliable, easy to understand and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. A simple but effective solution that improves lives sustainably.


A strong and equal partnership – international and long-term

To develop and scale the solution globally across multiple regulatory environments, GSK needed an experienced technology partner. With its agile approach and deep expertise, internationally active IT service provider adesso proved to be the right choice. Working closely together, the partners created a flexible system that can quickly adapt to changing requirements and is deployable worldwide.

adesso UK has been supporting GSK for around 18 months with the implementation and development of DREAM. This close and trusting collaboration has played a key role in the project’s success. Today, DREAM is being rolled out to additional countries and laying the foundation for future digital patient services at GSK.
