adesso will move into the top floors of the DZ HYP Tower (formerly WGZ BANK/WL BANK) – a familiar sight in the city of Münster, which is also known for its university and student life. Renamed Cube 1 after an extensive renovation, the tower is now a state-of-the-art multi-tenant building with an impressive height of 48 metres, more than 23,000 square metres of usable space and a facade with shiny gold-coloured aluminium elements. All these attributes make the fully refurbished property a widely visible flagship project.

adesso opens office in Münster
IT service provider adesso is to have a presence in Münster starting in October 2022. The company will reside on the top floors of the striking DZ HYP Tower in Weseler Straße in what will be its ninth office in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and its 27th overall in Germany. In opening the new location, adesso is remaining true to its principle of staying as close as possible to customers and the next generation of academic talent in university cities.

Location manager Daniel Wohlfarth wants to attract top talent to the new office. The graduate business economist plans to start with a team of around 40, which will be expanded locally to up to 200. “As an attractive employer with multiple awards to our name, we are targeting graduates from the University of Münster, one of the five largest universities in Germany, as well as from the local universities of applied science. We want to develop the young people here. What’s more, Münster is an important centre of research. This environment offers us a promising pool of highly qualified professionals that we need as a data-driven company for our public- and private-sector digitalisation projects.”
adesso: close to customers in the financial sector
In Münster, adesso is supporting the Provinzial Group as a migration partner for the replacement of its mainframe-based system environment. To this end, a three-year framework agreement was agreed between the insurer and the IT service provider.
adesso’s landlord in Cube 1, DZ HYP, which is headquartered on the base floors of the office tower in Münster, is a customer of the IT service provider. Since the beginning of the year, adesso has supported DZ HYP, a real estate bank that also issues Pfandbriefe (German covered bonds) as part of the “Genossenschaftliche FinanzGruppe Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken”, with process automation and has helped it implement the digital workplace of the future. Another customer is in very close proximity: Westdeutsche Lotterie (WestLotto), whose games portal was designed by adesso, is situated in the neighbourhood, near Sentmaringer Park.
Location manager Daniel Wohlfarth believes that being close to these key customers in the financial sector is a major advantage for the new office. As a former head of IT development at WL Bank, with which DG HYP merged to form DZ HYP, the adesso business area head is well connected in the Münster banking scene and is keen to “deepen our relationships with our local contacts”. The company’s new home is ideally suited for this, with large public areas on the ground floor including the reception, the cafeteria (Cube Inn) and conference rooms, all of which are available for adesso to use for networking with customers and guests.

Wohlfarth sees the location as a big stroke of luck on all levels, including a personal one. “Even as a child, I dreamed about working in the tower because of its magnificent view of the whole city,” says the native of Münster, who is now adesso location manager in his home city. “As an end-to-end service provider, we can meet the digitalisation needs of the Münster region in all industries thanks to our local presence. Although this area is not yet an established high-tech location, it is seeing a sharp increase in demand for digitalisation solutions.”
