TYPO3 Camp Berlin and TYPO3 Developer Days – Our experiences from the world of TYPO3

Two events, one strong community: Both TYPO3 Camp Berlin 2025 and TYPO3 Developer Days 2025 in Karlsruhe clearly demonstrated how vibrant and innovative the TYPO3 world is.

A wide range of topics, inspiring discussions and a humorous incident in the lift all contributed to making the event an unforgettable experience.

Jennifer Geiß shares her impressions of the Developer Days, which impressed with their technical depth, practical workshops and strong community moments. From new features in TYPO3 v13 and v14 to AI-supported optimisations and security strategies, the event offered a comprehensive outlook on the future of the CMS.

My impression of TYPO3 Camp Berlin 2025

TYPO3 Camp Berlin 2025 was a great experience for me as a new employee at adesso. The event took place at bum.berlin in Kreuzberg from 16 to 18 October. The warm-up party on 16 October provided a casual opportunity to experience the community in a relaxed atmosphere.

adesso was right in the thick of it

adesso was not only represented as a sponsor, but also had its own lecture room where exciting sessions took place. Together with three other colleagues from the TYPO3 Unit, we were there to participate in various talks and exchange ideas with the TYPO3 community.

The variety of topics was particularly impressive: from government site builders to accessibility to a testing framework – there was something for everyone. The opportunity to share knowledge and learn from others at the same time made visiting the camp a particularly valuable experience. It was inspiring to see how committed and innovative the community is and how many exciting projects and ideas were presented.

My personal highlights

The camp was a perfect mix of professional exchange and knowledge transfer. It was especially nice to see many familiar faces from the TYPO3 community again, meet new people and exchange ideas with them. Here, knowledge is not only shared, but also developed together. One session in which suggestions for the Germany stack were collected from the TYPO3 community was particularly exciting. This topic not only shows how active and future-oriented the community is, but also how important such platforms are for the further development of joint projects. The discussions were not only informative, but also showed how much potential there is in collaboration within the community.

Fun fact

A small highlight that quickly spread: at the warm-up party, three adessi employees got stuck in the lift. Fortunately, the situation was quickly resolved and provided some laughs and conversation during the event. This incident not only provided entertainment, but also showed how quickly stories spread in the community and how humorously the participants dealt with it.

My conclusion on TYPO3 Camp Berlin 2025

For me personally, TYPO3 Camp Berlin 2025 was a great experience. It showed me how important it is to be present at such events in order to take away new ideas and inspiration. I found it particularly exciting to see how adesso was actively involved in the community as a sponsor and with its own lecture room. It was nice to see how open and helpful the TYPO3 community is and how much potential there is in working together. I am already looking forward to the next event to learn even more, make new contacts and continue to be part of this great community!

TYPO3 Developer Days 2025: Technology, inspiration and a strong community

TYPO3 Developer Days 2025 in Karlsruhe was more than just a conference – it was a place where technology met community. Three days full of exciting sessions, practical workshops and inspiring discussions showed why TYPO3 is not just a CMS, but a lively and committed community.

Technology and innovation

The sessions offered a perfect mix of in-depth technical insights and practical tips. Particularly impressive was the presentation of the new features of TYPO3 v13, such as SiteSets and the further development of the Schema API, which make it easier to manage complex projects. The session ‘Beyond SEO: Practical Artificial Intelligence Optimisation (AIO) for TYPO3’ also showed how AI-supported tools can revolutionise everyday editorial work.

Another key point was the session ‘The State of Fluid’, which presented the latest developments in the Fluid templating system. This was complemented by the presentation of the revised dashboard in TYPO3 v14, which makes work even more efficient for editors with new features such as individual widget positioning and reporting functions.

Security and stability

Security was a central theme of the Developer Days. ‘From Vulnerability to Stability’ explained how TYPO3 identifies and fixes security vulnerabilities. In addition, the session ‘DDOS Protection with TYPO3’ offered practical tips for protecting instances from attacks.

Community spirit and networking

The Coding Night on Thursday evening was a real highlight. In a relaxed atmosphere, developers came together to work on projects, exchange ideas or actively contribute to the TYPO3 core – whether by fixing bugs or further developing the system. The open exchange and collaboration showed how much can be achieved in a short time when the right minds come together.

The social events also provided an ideal opportunity to network. Whether over dinner or a cold drink, the conversations were inspiring and showed me how diverse and supportive the TYPO3 community is. The contacts I made are more than just professional connections; they are part of a network that inspires and advances each other.

My conclusion on TYPO3 Developer Days 2025

TYPO3 Developer Days 2025 was a complete success. Not only did it showcase technological innovations, it also strengthened the community spirit. The combination of progress and human interaction makes Developer Days an indispensable event for anyone who loves TYPO3 and wants to help develop it further.
