Strategic expansion: adesso expands consulting teams for SAP customs and foreign trade management solutions
Growing challenges in international trade and modernisation requirements in the SAP environment are significantly increasing demand for process and IT consulting among global companies. adesso business consulting, the adesso SE subsidiary of specialising in business and SAP solutions, is responding strategically by investing in its own capacity. The consulting firm is strengthening its team with additional specialists in the SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) and S/4 HANA for International Trade solutions in order to future-proof its customers in times of growing trade conflicts.

From a technological perspective, companies need to act quickly. For example, maintenance for SAP GTS 11.0 ends on 31 December 2025, and the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA means that certain functions in foreign trade will no longer be available. The expanded adesso teams have the necessary consulting expertise for industries, processes and products. They use this to help companies make a seamless and rapid transition to the new solutions with their exclusive functions. They assist with the migration from SAP GTS 11.0 to the SAP GTS edition for SAP HANA, and with initial implementation of SAP GTS or SAP S/4HANA for International Trade.
Companies with a global profile that previously managed without specialised solutions such as SAP GTS also face a growing need to use them, as global trade conflicts have intensified considerably in recent years. And the outlook shows no signs of improvement. The expected further restrictions on free trade and the increasing complexity in global supply chains - for example due to the threat of US tariffs - are creating uncertainty among companies. In this environment, solutions such as SAP GTS, targeted consulting services relating to these products and associated processes play a decisive role. This is because using a solution of this kind enables international companies, for instance, to carry out compliance checks, operate electronic customs clearance, calculate preferences and exchange long-term supplier declarations, mainly in a fully automated process. This significantly reduces compliance risks and customs duties. In times of constantly changing global conditions, this is a key competitive advantage.
