The IT service provider adesso welcomed 16 new recruits yesterday as the new apprenticeship year kicked off. The focus of the 2018 apprenticeship year is once again on the combined vocational training and degree programme in software and system technology, which combines professional training with a degree course at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund. In addition to that, the company is also offering standard training to qualified IT specialists as well as office and event managers.

The IT service-provider adesso has won a Europe-wide tender for an important framework contract from the federal government: the Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior (Bundesministeriums des Innern – BMI) has engaged adesso to manage, maintain and develop its electronic tender platform for a further six years. The total contract volume is up to EUR 25 million.

Reto Pazderka will become the new managing director of adesso’s Austrian subsidiary. The 48-year-old computer scientist is coming from CPB Software GmbH in Vienna, where he presided as CEO.

adesso AG has founded a new subsidiary in Spain. With its Barcelona branch, adesso is continuing to drive the internationalisation of its service business. The company already owns subsidiaries in Austria, Switzerland and Turkey. Other foreign subsidiaries are in the pipeline.

Nect is the name of the winner of the second Start-up Boostival, a competition run by adesso and its incubator inQventures for young company founders. A jury comprising venture-capital representatives and corporate investors selected the young Hamburg-based company from amongst the six finalists to be the winner of the pitch event because of its "innovative, forward-thinking and convincing” IT business idea. The Boostival targets B2B start-ups from the fields of fintech, healthtech, insurtech, the internet of things and mobility, and from the public and utilities sectors.

The IT service provider adesso has developed a chatbot platform for Mercedes-Benz drivers. Known as Ask Mercedes, the innovation provides intelligent content about vehicles. The service is scheduled to be available in German from summer 2018.

Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen is now offering its major customers in the real-estate and corporate sectors modern 360° information portals, which provide them with a complete overview of their existing business relationships. The IT service provider adesso was commissioned with the development of the systems, and implemented the project as a general contractor together with the portal developer Crealogix.
