Choosing a special team at adesso. As part of its initiative to support women in the IT industry, the IT service provider has launched its two-year coaching program ‘adesso eleven’. It gives participants targeted support for the development of their professional potential. The head coach of the adesso team is Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, who is also head coach of the German women’s national football team and ambassador for adesso’s ‘She for IT’ initiative.

The Supervisory Board of adesso AG has appointed Stefan Riedel to the company’s Executive Board effective as at 1 January 2020, raising the number of members to five. The strengthening of the management team comes against the backdrop of accelerated growth and further internationalisation of the adesso Group. Riedel arrives from IBM Deutschland, where he was responsible for the group’s insurance operations across Europe as Vice President Insurance Europe.

In as many as 9 of the 22 exclusive providers surveyed, at least half of the agents would recommend their insurance company to interested colleagues. This means that the representatives of Debeka, Concordia, Con-tinentale, HanseMerkur, LVM, Mecklenburgische, Provinzial Rheinland, VGH and Württembergische Versicherung (in alphabetic order) are more than twice as convinced of their product provider as the laggards in the sector, only around 20 % of which would recommend their insurance company.

The subsidiary, which was fully acquired in 2016 as Smarthouse Media GmbH and subsequently renamed smarthouse adesso financial solutions, is set to form part of the Banking division within the adesso Group. The merger agreement was signed today.

The healthcare sector still has a long way to go when it comes to digitalisation, according to a recent study by the industry network Healthcare Frauen (HCF). The IT service provider adesso lent its support to the study. However, the issue is now firmly on the minds of the sector’s decision makers.

IT service provider adesso has opened a new office on the Baltic coast. adesso now has a presence in the Hanseatic City of Rostock, the second adesso Group office in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania after Stralsund and the 22nd in Germany.

Only four of the 22 exclusive insurers surveyed offer their providers a fully digital, paperless processing option for more than 60 per cent of all transactions. That puts the four pioneers, ARAG, Concordia, Mecklenburgische Versicherung and Nürnberger Versicherung (in alphabetical order), at a level of digitalisation almost double that of the laggards in the sector, who only come in at about 35 per cent. The key motivating factors behind the providers’ calls for further digitalisation of their insurance agencies are the increased time for customer consultations and higher cross-selling density, as the current benchmark survey from Sirius Campus in cooperation with IT service provider adesso shows.

adesso is awarded the third contract in a year for a publicly funded project for digitalisation in the construction industry. Following the SWARM and BIM competence centre projects, the BIMcontracts collaborative re-search project is another adesso investment project that the federal government is financing as funding authority. It marks another important milestone on the path towards the digitalisation of the German construction industry.

Jörg Schroeder (41) is to become the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at IT service provider adesso. Schroeder comes from BITMARCK Hold-ing GmbH, where he has worked for the past 11 years, most recently as CFO. He will replace adesso’s long-standing CFO, Christoph Junge, who has chosen to leave the company with effect from 30 September.
