EasyGov 2.0: adesso Awarded SECO Contract to Revamp the Digital Administration Portal for Swiss Businesses

adesso Schweiz AG, a subsidiary of the IT service provider adesso SE, has been awarded a major contract by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) following a public tender for the strategic reorganisation of the EasyGov digital business platform. The potential contract value attributable to adesso Schweiz amounts to up to CHF 51 million over a 12-year term. The actual potential for revenue and profit realisation depends on the services commissioned under the framework agreement and on the progress of the project.

The implementation phase of EasyGov 2.0 was approved in summer 2026. adesso Schweiz is gradually integrating existing public authority services into the new platform. The go-live is scheduled for autumn 2027. Initially, 63 public authority services are to be integrated. In the long term, the plan is to provide around 400 services. The number of users is expected to rise from the current figure of around 190,000 to over 500,000.

Central Digital Access Point for Businesses

SECO and adesso are developing EasyGov 2.0 specifically as a shared digital infrastructure for public services aimed at businesses in Switzerland. The new platform is intended to bundle services provided by the federal government, cantons, cities and municipalities – such as company formation, registration procedures and extracts from the commercial register – at a central digital access point, thereby helping to reduce red tape. At the heart of the project is a scalable, modular architecture based on a low-code platform. The platform provides many of the functions required for application development via graphical user interfaces, configuration and reusable components. This will enable partner authorities to develop digital specialist modules themselves in future – independently, in a standardised manner and in compliance with the necessary governance requirements.

Development, Operation, Support and Maintenance From a Single Source

adesso Schweiz provides the low-code platform, including the relevant licences, and continues to develop it. In addition, the IT service provider is developing the EasyGov 2.0 portal platform and will be responsible for its operation, support and maintenance. For complex public services, adesso Schweiz is also designated as one of several providers of high-code development resources. These are intended in particular for processes that SECO and its partner authorities cannot implement at all, or can only implement to a limited extent, using standardised low-code components.

AI Supports Software Development

In addition to low-code, artificial intelligence is set to assist in the development of the specialist modules. The focus here is on AI-supported processes for specification and software development, including the use of AI agents, adSCAILE and Mendix Vibe Coding.

The aim is to make public services available digitally more quickly in future, to simplify procedures and to reduce the administrative burden on businesses when dealing with public authorities.

“With EasyGov 2.0, we are demonstrating in concrete terms how low-code and AI are driving the digital transformation of public administration,” says Michaela Gasser, CEO of adesso Schweiz AG. “This contract is an important vote of confidence in our expertise in the public sector and underlines that modern development models can make even complex administrative processes efficient and future-proof.”
