Dortmund | 1. July 2021
From the 2021/22 season, adesso will act as the official main and shirt sponsor for Borussia Dortmund’s new woman’s football team. Between now and 2023, the women of Borussia Dortmund (BVB) will bear the name of the Dortmund-based IT service provider on their shirts at home and away matches.
The BVB partnership will give adesso, as the main and shirt sponsor, a high degree of visibility at the team’s home and away matches. As the BVB women’s main sponsor, adesso will be prominently featured in the official team photos as well as in the BVB club’s media. Furthermore, an extensive sponsorship package has been put together, giving adesso access to content formats with the new BVB players.
The second part of the partnership calls for mutual support in the transfer of knowledge and on management-related topics from the respective areas of expertise. Last year, adesso was selected as the main sponsor of the BVB youth team and since then has been the club’s chosen IT partner and service provider. The agreement gives players from the BVB women’s team the possibility of participating in internships and/or training courses at adesso. In return, the BVB will offer adesso’s junior staff the opportunity to complete job shadowing programmes in the club’s IT department or in other relevant areas at Borussia Dortmund.
The sponsoring partnership is a tremendous gain for adesso’s She for IT initiative, which aims to increase the proportion of women in the field of information technology. BVB’s female players are set to hit the pitch with the adesso logo and the phrase “She for IT” on their shirts in the hopes of raising the profile of women in IT professions in business and society at large – a piece of news which She for IT patron Martina Voss-Tecklenburg is happy to hear.
The coach of the German women’s national team has been supporting the initiative for over two years: “I am especially pleased about the first BVB’s women’s team and welcome the connection between sport and commitment to woman’s issues, which is expressed through the ‘She for IT’ lettering on the team’s shirts.”
