adesso AI Hub: Centralised AI Governance Platform for Companies Seeking Autonomy

84 % of companies prioritise storing their data within their own country, whilst 81 per cent want it stored no further afield than the EU. These are the findings of adesso’s GenAI Impact Report 2026. Through its subsidiary adesso as a service GmbH, the IT service provider is now offering IT managers the adesso AI Hub, a platform that enables them to ensure precisely that: transparency and governance across the entire range of AI usage within the company, including control over the infrastructure on which models are run and data is processed.

From an Internal Tool to a Market Solution

The adesso AI Hub addresses a cross-sector challenge: different business units are using various AI models in an uncontrolled manner, without shared governance, without cost control and without uniform data protection standards. For adesso itself, this situation was also the catalyst for development. The company initially designed and developed the platform for internal use. Today, around 4,800 employees – roughly a third of the workforce – use it and have already processed more than 450 billion tokens via the platform. Building on this practical experience, the tried-and-tested AI Hub is now being made available to external customers as well.

The platform serves as a central control layer between the available AI models and the applications within the company. Rather than individual teams setting up their own access with various providers independently, the AI Hub consolidates all model access at a single central point. Companies decide which models are authorised for each area of application. They maintain an overview of usage and costs in real time and ensure that personal data does not leave the network unsecured. For developers, little changes: access is via a single API key that integrates seamlessly into existing working environments.

“AI has arrived in businesses, but control over it often hasn’t. The growing use of models and the demand for digital sovereignty can only be reconciled if both are managed centrally. The adesso AI Hub makes this possible,” explains Peter de Lorenzi, Executive Director Horizontals, Platforms & Services at adesso SE.

Full Control Over Sovereignty Levels and Data Residency

The AI Hub is hosted on the C5-certified adesso business cloud. This guarantees that data does not leave the EU. The platform supports the deployment of AI solutions with varying levels of sovereignty: from fully sovereign GPU clusters in adesso’s data centre, through European-hosted partner infrastructures such as STACKIT, to EU-based cloud environments. For each use case, customers can configure the level of data sovereignty that best suits their needs. Depending on the availability model, decision-makers also have access to a CIO dashboard for company-wide transparency regarding AI projects and expenditure, as well as governance structures and audit trails for the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.

The adesso AI Hub forms part of adesso SE’s four-tier AI service portfolio. From dedicated GPU infrastructure and a curated model garden to turnkey AI business applications, the central control layer forms the core of the portfolio. The platform is available as a hosted multi-tenant solution with SSO integration or as a dedicated installation in the customer’s own data centre. Furthermore, the Hub can be deployed within adesso projects to measure, manage and transparently account for AI costs on a project-by-project basis.
