Purpose and legal basis of data processing:
Our legitimate interest lies in protecting people and property and preventing criminal offences.
Video surveillance is carried out for the following purposes:
- Exercising domiciliary rights
- Protecting people and property
- Preventing and investigating criminal offences
- Ensuring IT and operational security
The camera used employs AI-supported analysis functions (motion detection) to automatically detect and highlight security-related events.
There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Storage duration of the recordings:
The re-identification vectors generated for tracking are not stored permanently.
- The vectors exist only temporarily in the working memory during active tracking.
- They are completely discarded after 30 seconds at the latest.
- It is not possible to permanently recognise individuals based on this data.
Only the video data is stored in accordance with the configured retention period of the camera system. This is 11 days.
Categories of data processed
- Images of persons
- Location and time information
- AI analysis results (movement patterns)
No biometric data is processed for unique identification purposes, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Use of AI-based video analysis (re-identification process)
Video analysis uses AI technology that reliably tracks the movements of individuals exclusively within the camera's field of vision. To do this, greatly reduced image sections (approx. 32 × 64 pixels) from the live video stream are processed in order to recognise the same person across successive video images.
For this so-called re-identification (‘Re-ID’), the system generates a numerical feature vector from each reduced image section. This vector is a purely mathematical, non-interpretable numerical value that merely describes the visual similarity between image sections and is only used for short-term assignment within the video analysis. It is therefore not possible to identify a person in the sense of recognising their identity.
- No explicit, personal or biometric characteristics are extracted or stored in this context. In particular:
- No faces are analysed or recognised.
- No biometric features such as facial data, iris, fingerprints or gait are processed.
- No explicit attributes such as hair colour, clothing or height are determined or stored as individual data points.
The feature vectors generated are used exclusively for the technical tracking of movements within the respective camera view and are only retained for the period of time necessary for this purpose.
Recipients of the data
Data will only be disclosed if this is absolutely necessary for the investigation of criminal offences or for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims, in particular to:
- Law enforcement authorities
- Courts
Otherwise, the image data will not be transferred to third parties or to the manufacturer of the AI software used.
Rights of data subjects
Data subjects have the right to:
- Information (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
