As a client partner within Andreas Prenneis’s area of responsibility on the Executive Board, he will drive the further growth of adesso SE’s healthcare business. In this role, he will be responsible for the strategic support and development of clients in the healthcare provider sector and will assist hospitals and other healthcare facilities in implementing their digitalisation strategies.
With this appointment, adesso is further strengthening its position in the digital healthcare sector in Germany. Within the industry Andreas Kumbroch is regarded as a ‘bridge-builder’ who combines complex technological innovations with the requirements of strategic management. The company is thus making a targeted investment in expanding its healthcare expertise.
Networking and Innovation in Healthcare Kumbroch has been active for many years as a strategic partner in key initiatives for the digitalization of the healthcare sector. As co-founder of IHE Europe and IHE Suisse, and as a member of gematik’s INA expert group, he supports the implementation of scientific standards into IT practice. Furthermore, he is involved in professional associations such as bvitg and HL7 Germany, and translates interoperability standards into clinical practice.
His ability to bring together stakeholders from the fields of ‘Smart Hospital’, standardisation (HL7/FHIR) and the healthcare industry makes him a key driving force behind the further development of digital healthcare. As an initiator and co-host, Kumbroch has launched numerous formats that connect start-ups, hospital management and political stakeholders.
At adesso, he will continue this approach and focus on translating topics such as artificial intelligence and data-driven medicine into scalable customer solutions.
International Expertise and Technological Innovation
Kumbroch began his career in software development and went on to hold international leadership positions in the field of health IT. Among other roles, he was a founder and worked in management positions at global providers of laboratory and hospital IT systems as well as interoperability solutions, and was responsible for establishing international organisations. In doing so, he was instrumental in driving forward the digitalisation of major European laboratory chains through the introduction of scalable software platforms. He also engaged with decentralised technologies at an early stage and implemented blockchain-based approaches for patient-centred health records and value-based healthcare as early as 2016.
