adesso Banking AI Network: Inaugural event on the use of AI in the financial sector

With the new "Banking AI Network" event format, adesso is creating a platform for experts from the banking sector who wish to strategically tap into the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI) in particular. The event, to be held on 5 June 2025 in Frankfurt am Main, will focus on concrete application scenarios, best practices and innovations that pave the way for a smarter and more efficient banking of the future.

The theme of the first event in a regular series is “Where Decision Makers and AI Professionals Meet”. The pragmatic and solution-focused format is intended to offer high-calibre experts from the financial sector a forum for recurring dialogue in which they can jointly develop AI-based scenarios for the future of banking.

AI innovations for the banking of tomorrow

In presentations and discussion panels, experts from adesso, partner companies and the financial industry will shine the spotlight on the latest developments in generative AI, regulatory requirements and success factors for the implementation of AI initiatives. The aim is to inspire discussion and show ways in which industry participants can successfully handle the transition from theory to practice.

The agenda:

  • 16:00 Reception & welcome
  • 16:15 The AI-driven bank: How we designed an AI-supported neo-bank (presentation by Alfred Ermer, bloon GmbH)
  • 16:45 Generative AI in the bank: Between vision and reality(presentation by Matthias Günther and Nicolas Mehl, dwpbank)
  • 17:15 Trust through independence: Foundations of a sovereign AI strategy(presentation by Adrian Sommer, STACKIT)
  • 17:45 Networking & refreshments
  • 20:00 End of the event

Experience the added value of AI in practice

The event is centred around the stimulating exchange of ideas. Various information stands will provide concrete insights into how AI is already creating real added value for banks today. At one of these stands, adesso will be showing how AI-supported reporting (reporting intelligence) automates and accelerates processes in regulatory reporting while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The company will also demonstrate how modern data platforms are the foundation of powerful AI applications – through the secure, scalable and adaptive provision of high-quality data.

Another area of focus is intelligent automation solutions in everyday banking. Example use cases such as “Lead-Machine” and an intelligent solution for automated email classification, which adesso has developed together with BayernLB, show how AI-based systems can optimise banking processes, open up new sales potential and increase service quality. In addition, a live demo will provide insights into how AI-based processing of handwritten documents, operated on a sovereign cloud infrastructure, opens up innovative possibilities for secure data processing and regulatory-compliant accounts settlement.

“Artificial intelligence is no longer a vision of the future. It is now a decisive success factor for banks in the digital age,” says Andreas Strunz, Competence Center Lead Banking AI at adesso. “By launching the Banking AI Network, we’re looking to engage in close dialogue with industry players going forward. Our aim is to jointly develop strategies to establish this pioneering technology in the financial sector in a secure, efficient and beneficial way – with a clear focus on practical relevance, regulations and value creation.”
