Migrating an old DWH to a new environment/technology

VHV was faced with the challenge of migrating its old DWH to a new environment and talend was to be replaced by SAS. In addition, there was a need to build the DWH according to the data vault model and set up the data marts in a column-based database (DB2 BLU). Generation of jobs to fill the DWH would be metadata-driven.

adesso modelled DWH3.0 in MID Innovator, attended to the generation of jobs for filling a data vault model as well as the in-database processing of ETL processes – not to mention developing an Essbase interface.

Result

The ETL processes were adapted to the requirements and the automatic creation of loading processes now ensures a lighter workload for VHV. All data was also successfully loaded into the DWH.
