Partnership extended to 2026: adesso becomes Borussia Dortmund’s digitalisation partner

adesso and Borussia Dortmund have announced plans to continue their successful partnership for a further three years until 2026. adesso will accompany Borussia Dortmund on its digital transformation journey as the Bundesliga team’s official digitalisation partner. The IT service provider has also confirmed a three-year extension to its deal as the main sponsor of the club’s youth teams and as a partner for all of Borussia's activities.

Thanks to the extension, which was signed in time for the start of the new Bundesliga season, adesso is now an official Champion Partner of the club and its digitalisation partner. As a shirt sponsor, the IT service provider is also increasing its visibility and presence at home and away matches of the club’s youth teams. adesso and Borussia Dortmund have been working together since 2020. The alliance has focused on sales, marketing and sport, as well as overarching software development and IT consulting projects.

In sales and marketing, the two partners intend to work together to raise Borussia Dortmund’s digital platforms and processes to the next level, creating optimal experiences for fans, giving sponsors new opportunities to address specific target groups and opening the door to more efficient processes for employees. Besides the relaunch of the BVB website, adesso is also helping to introduce a new ERP system and develop an end-to-end, Salesforce-based data management concept.

adesso and BVB are also exploring further joint projects in a sporting context, such as the comprehensive data warehouse that is currently being created for the BVB data and analytics department. The system collates the club’s sports science, medical and match analysis data with performance metrics from external sources and interprets and visualises this information in the form of eye-catching dashboards. BVB’s internal target groups – from the coaching team to the management – benefit from detailed and customised evaluations, with data-driven scouting and player monitoring allowing the club to continue working with its youth and professional squads at the highest possible level.

We want to build on this solid platform and establish Borussia Dortmund as a digital pioneer in the Bundesliga and beyond. As an innovative digitalisation expert, adesso is exactly the right partner to achieve this aim.”

Prof. Dr Volker Gruhn, founder of adesso and Chairman of its Supervisory Board adds: “adesso and Borussia Dortmund are an excellent match. I am very pleased that we are now able to support BVB as an official digital partner in addition to our activities as the main sponsor of the youth teams. Our partnership is not only united by a passion for football, but also by our shared vision of a first-class digital experience for fans, sponsors and partners alike. We want to continue to use our wealth of experience in sport to support Borussia Dortmund moving forward.”
