University of Duisburg-Essen, Ruhr Institute for Software Technology

University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is one of Germany’s largest universities. It provides a huge and internationally aligned spectrum of subjects and intensively practices research. adesso cooperates particularly with the Software Engineering Department of “Ruhr Institute for Software Technology”. The department, directed by Prof. Dr. Volker Gruhn, concentrates predominantly on methods and techniques for the development and the processing of software systems with focus on mobile applications. In the context of the cooperation, adesso profits from research results concerning means of specification, architectural concepts and methods of configuration, which then can be applied to the development of innovative IT solutions.

Technical University of Dortmund, Department of Computer Science

Within the Department of Computer Science of the Technical University of Dortmund adesso cooperates very closely with the special field of “Computer Science and Society ”as well as with the chair of software technology. Joint projects between the department and adesso always provide valuable results for the requirements in practical application. adesso also takes care of regular project and diploma theses of students. Apart from the continuous support and the provision of important resources, students also acquire valuable practical experience. This is a good investment in the future, since qualitative support of a high value paves the way for innovative ideas with new challenges.

Ruhr Universität Bochum, Department of IMTM (Information- and Technology Management)

The Department of IMTM of the Ruhr University Bochum dedicates its efforts to the socio-technological aspects of information technology. Research and teaching deal among others with questions of integrating man, technology and organisation as well as with the management of knowledge and computer-supported cooperative learning. The courses we offer address both students with a technical education who (want to) concentrate on questions of human resources and organisational development, on management tasks and methods, and those who have already gathered experiences in these fields and would, therefore, like to be competent business partners in contact with IT-projects.

University of Leipzig, Chair for Applied Telematics/e-Business

The Chair of Applied Telematics/e-Business at the University of Leipzig deals with the question how computer sciences and telecommunication can be combined in order to efficiently and effectively develop and operate applicable distributed software systems. In the context of this cooperation adesso makes use of results from their research activity and continues their development in the projects of the “Competence Center Mobile Applications” of the adesso subsidiary in Berlin.

Versicherungsforen Leipzig (Insurance Forums)

The Versicherungsforen Leipzig – a limited liability company for applied insurance science – offers an ideal platform for information exchange for a network of more than 160 institutions of the insurance sector within the insurance industry. The content-related focus is consistently aligned to the market and concentrates on new trends and current challenges of the insurance industry. adesso as a partner company benefits in its cooperation with the insurance forums from the insurance-scientific know-how as well as from the methodological competence, which the team of the company develops by working with a permanent practical and scientific orientation.

Softwareforen Leipzig (Software Forums)

Softwareforen Leipzig, a spin-off of the University of Leipzig, apply themselves to the development and the placement of methods, procedures and best practices from software engineering to technically support the software development process. In the center of all activities stands a knowledge platform for intercommunication and for targeted developing and refining IT knowhow. In the cooperation with the Softwareforen adesso, for its own software development, benefits from the expertise in research and a constantly growing pool of up-to-date topics. In the context of the collaboration adesso supports, among others, various events of the Softwareforen which help to foster networking. Additionally, adesso participates actively in several symposia.

Gesundheitsforen Leipzig (HealthcareForums)

Gesundheitsforen Leipzig provide expert knowledge for the healthcare sector. In their core business they promote the knowledge transfer between companies and research institutes. Gesundheitsforen are occupied with defining the effective and specific requirements of healthcare insurances and other healthcare providers. As a partner of Gesundheitsforen adesso benefits from the theoretic expert knowledge and can apply it in order to realize and further develop IT solutions which are particularly tailored to the means of the healthcare sector.

Hasso-Plattner Institut für Softwaretechnik GmbH (HPI)

The Hasso-Plattner Institut für Softwaretechnik is a project of a public-private partnership between the Hasso Plattner Foundation for Software System Technology, the Federal State of Brandenburg and the University of Potsdam. Motivated by the demands of the economy and research, HPI - in the form of an affiliated institute at the University of Potsdam - educates software engineers. adesso especially cooperates with the special field of “Business Process Technology ”which works on the development of new methods and technologies for the modelling and software system technological support of flexible business processes.

Frankfurt University, Professorship for Information Systems Engineering (ISE)

The professorship for Information Systems Engineering (ISE) of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt on the Main concentrates among others on the development and modelling of information systems, on e-learning methods as well as on posing theoretical organisational questions for the implementation of information systems in companies. As partners both adesso and the professorship equally benefit in joint R&D projects from the theoretical expert know-how emerging from the ongoing research process as well as from field-tested practical applications deriving from customer projects.

University of Zurich, Institute for Computer Science

The University of Zurich ranks among the best research universities in Europe and offers the most comprehensive range of fields of study in Switzerland. adesso cooperates with the Institute for Computer Science and the experts in business informatics educated there. Within this cooperation adesso supports the students of this field of study in handling the project or actively integrates them in their own project work. Apart from the possibility for students to do an internship or to write their diploma thesis in the company, a regular exchange of know-how and experience between the organisations takes place.

Vienna University of Technology, Distributed Software Group (DSG)

Vienna University of Technology is the largest university in Austria in the domains of technology and natural sciences. Moreover, it ranks among Europe’s renowned research universities. In the context of the cooperation adesso closely works together with the Distributed Software Group (DSG) under the direction of Prof. Dr. Schahram Dustdar. The DSG is part of the Information Systems Institute and is very well grounded in the domain of distributed systems. The focus lies on the exploration of new applications and technologies to the development of such systems. In addition, the cooperation of adesso and DSG comprises the areas of service-oriented architectures, software services and components.

IG B2B Association for Insurers + Brokers

IG B2B Association for Insurers + Brokers has been founded in order to conjointly elaborate on the basic principles of a standardized electronic data exchange for the broker industry. As a member of IG B2B adesso is involved in the work groups of the association (for example the group on tender procurement) and supports, with profound knowhow in diverse topics of the insurance industry, the elaboration of professional and technical standards for optimizing business processes on a cross-company scale.
