Business Process Management (BPM)

Microsoft BizTalk Server provides a holistic mapping of business processes as well as their execution, control and analysis in Office (BPM). BizTalk Server is able to assume the business models from different modeling tools, e.g. Microsoft Visio®, visio-based partner solutions or third-party systems, and finally implements them into a runtime-environment. By means of the „Business Rules Engine“ business processes can be configured more flexibly and comfortably.

Process controlling is a main component of Business Process Management. BizTalk provides economic as well as technological indicators (e.g. processing times or response times of applications). The BizTalk component for Business Activity Monitoring – BAM – provides the basis for these operations. It allows real-time Business Intelligence, additionally to a comprehensive analysis. The visualization is carried out on the familiar interface of Microsoft products.

Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)

The integration of heterogeneous systems (Enterprise Application Integration, EAI) is fast and easily carried out by BizTalk and its numerous adapters. BizTalk there functions as the central unit for an arbitrary number of systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Siebel). Additional work for the administration and maintenance of point-to-point connections is thus not necessary. An important factor for mapping cross-company processes (B2B integration) is the rapid implementation of existing standards. BizTalk supports numerous of those standards.
