adesso AG acquires Austrian beiT Consulting GmbH

Dortmund/Vienna, 29 January 2009– The German adesso Group takes over the Austrian beiT Consulting GmbH that will in the future operate under the name adesso Austria GmbH. By this takeover, adesso Group is continuing its expansion strategy within the German-speaking area and employs 600 members of staff now. Moreover, adesso complements its competence in the fields of banks, insurance, lottery and healthcare with the sectors of eGovernment and media. New adesso Austria will offer a wide range of consultancy know-how as well as the product portfolio of adesso Group.

With the aid of the established beiT Consulting GmbH adesso will transfer its business model based on an industry-specific approach of consultancy to the Austrian market. By this, the service spectrum of adesso will not only be available in Germany and Switzerland but also in Austria. As part of the adesso Group beiT Consulting will be able to realise additional major projects.

Beside opening up to the Austrian market and a historically as well as locally grown proximity to eastern-European markets, the adesso Group profits from the high industry-specific competence of the new subsidiary in the fields of eGovernment and media. The company will offer corresponding products in Germany and Switzerland from now on.

By entering the Austrian market, adesso continues its expansion strategy. „We are glad having found a strong partner in Austria with beIT Consutling GmbH. In 2008, beiT Consulting GmbH has been awarded as one of „Austria‘s Leading Companies“ at the renowned Austrian Business Award, held by WirtschaftsBlatt and PricewaterhouseCoopers. With 30 members of staff the company generated an annual turnover of 3.4 million EUR in 2008 and plans annual sales of 5 million EUR for 2009.
