New administrative board for adesso Schweiz AG

Zurich/Dortmund, 27 February 2008 – adesso Schweiz AG elected a new administrative board as from January 1, 2008. Dr. iur. Peter R. Walti assumes the position of president of the administrative board. Further members are Dr. Rüdiger Striemer, member of the executive board of adesso AG Deutschland, and Prof. Dr. Harald Gall of the University of Zurich. In the future adesso will enter into a knowledge and technology cooperation with the Institute of Computer Science of this university.

The company located in Zurich is the Swiss subsidiary of the IT provider adesso AG quoted on the stock exchange, which is already represented in Germany with 6 locations. The focus of service is on consultancy and software development. Daniel Walther, chief executive of adesso Schweiz AG, is very satisfied with this new team: “The new administrative board pools competences and connections helping us to continue the success story of adesso Schweiz.

This implies expanding our competences in the insurance sector, which means that we significantly benefit from the experiences of the German adesso. Furthermore, we rely on creating synergy effects resulting from our increased cooperation with the University of Zurich.”

Decisive for this is a member of the administrative board, Prof. Dr. Harald Gall, professor and head of the research group Software Engineering at the University of Zurich which, with about 100 fields of study and 24.000 students, ranks among the best research universities in Europe. In the context of this cooperation adesso supports students in this field of study with an education which has a practical and technological orientation and it actively integrates them into its own project work. Apart from the possibility of doing internships or diploma theses within the company, a regular exchange of knowledge and experience between the organisations takes place.

In 1998, a member of the administrative board, Dr. Rüdiger Striemer, did his doctorate in the field of study of computer science at the Technical University of Berlin and in 1999 he started as Business Development Manager at adesso AG, Germany. Since 2001 he has been member of the executive board and responsible for software development as well as strategic business development und company communication.

Dr. Peter Walti has been a member of the administrative board since 2005, when the adesso AG Schweiz still operated under the company name GLANCE AG. As a lawyer and business economist specialising on the IT sector he is a member of numerous administrative boards of renowned information service providers and software companies. In the Swiss IT scene Dr. Walti is particularly well known for organising the annual IT Executive Forum and numerous IT Executive Roundtables.
