KKH-Allianz integrates health insurance fund databases with the help of GADIV GmbH

Much/Hanover, 17 August 2009 - GADIV GmbH, an expert in IT solutions in the sector of statutory health insurance, has implemented the data migration following the merger of BKK Allianz and KKH-Allianz. Despite the special challenge of a merger of a company health insurance and a substitute funds with different data formats, only 0.02 per cent of the insurants’ master data had to be reprocessed manually. GADIV was then commissioned again for the subsequent merger of KKH-Allianz and METRO AG Kaufhof BKK.

The merger of Allianz-Versicherung and KKH-Allianz was only the fifth of its kind since the approval of amalgamations of different types of health insurance two years ago. Three of these mergers were accompanied by GADIV GmbH, which profited from more than two decades of professional and technical experience in merging health insurance funds on the basis of the ISKV (information systems in statutory health insurance) standard. KKH-Allianz also commissioned the adesso AG subsidiary to implement the project.

The challenge of the IT migration was above all the conversion of the BKK Allianz insurants’ data available in ISKV format into the data formats of KKH-Allianz. Therefore, the insurance companies attached great importance to safeguarding data quality. Thanks to GADIV’s know-how in insurance data structures, only 24 of around 108,000 of the insurants’ data had to be reprocessed manually. This corresponds to an error rate of 0.02 per cent.

The data of the BKK Allianz source insurance company was analysed in an advance quality check in order to eliminate duplicates in the portfolio of insurants and to generate standard cases for the transfer of data. For this purpose, KKH-Allianz determined which data is needed at what time from the source insurance company. GADIV defined interfaces which accepted BKK Allianz data and implemented the selection programs. The programs and interfaces were verified in a test run before the real data was transferred step-by-step into the KKH-Allianz database.

“GADIV’s years of experience in merging health insurance funds and other health insurance companies have paid off with this migration project. As an IT service provider for statutory health insurance, the company has the necessary know-how at its disposal. It was also due to this that we were able to complete the integration within a few months,” emphasises Uwe Walz, the IT migration Project Assistant for BKK Allianz. His counterpart Peter Jarlowski of KKH-Allianz adds: “Through the careful pre-selection and the gradual alignment of the insurants’ data, ongoing operations were not affected at any time and the integration of the insurants’ data into our databases went smoothly.”
